grandparents need help to be the guardians little girl deserves.

MOM MOM started this conversation

hi, i am a 51 year wife and mother. my daughter got very ill 7 years ago shortly after giving birth to a little girl. she was too ill to care for the child so i have. she became too ill to care for herself so i did. this past june she died. my pain is constant and unrelenting. my daughters disease was rare and doctors did not know what she had. my husband and i took her from doctor to doctor until they were finally were able to diagnose it as H.S. a rare and incurable disease. my husband was a wholesale shoe representative, from missing so much work time he lost his sales lines that he represented. now we scrape by selling shoes at flea markets. we barely get by. we just missed quilfying for medicade. i have severe rheumatoid arthritis. i can barely hobble around. i need a mobility scooterfor a heavy person, that can come apart to fit in a car. i need both knees replaced.my husband has large hernias on each side of his groin. we are the guardiand of our grand daughter. the state provides healthcare for her. she deserves to be raised to the best of our abilities. we really need healyh care. if there is no way to get health care for us please pray for us. my condition is terribly impeading.

DEAR ELAINE TSA:THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH. I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT WE COULD NOT GET NEW JERSEY FAMILY CARE (OUR STATES PLAN FOR LOW INCOME FAMILIES) BECAUSE WE WERE NOT ANGELICA'S NATURAL PARENTS. BUT WHEN I STARTED GOING ON THE LINKS YOU LISTED AND THEN TO SUBSAQUENT LINKS THEY REFERED ME TO, THEY SAID GUARDIAN CAN APPLY. I CALLED RIGHT AWAY. I SPOKE WITH A INTAKE WORKER. SHE IS SENDING OUT AN APPLICATION RIGHT AWAY. SHE SAID AS FAR AS IT LOOKS WE WILL BE ABLE TO GET COVERAGE. THIS MEANS NEW KNEES FOR MOM MOM. THANK YOU FOR POINTING ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. MAY GOD BLESS YOU ! MOM MOM

Thank you for trying to help. We live in New jersey. Our town is called Marlton, it is in burlington. I have not incured any medical bills because I know that I can't pay them. I have no credit cards. my mortgage is very high due to the ammount of taxes we pay. If we went to a doctor around us the first thing they ask is if you have proof of insurance. If you do not have insurance they tell you must pay in full at time of service. I have needed a thyroid screen for four years but its over a hundred dollars just to have a doctor visit, and then they add on to that a fee for each thing they do.

I don't know what state you reside in but that information would help me give you a better response. Sometimes when you are not eligible for Medicaid there are alternate programs. Also when you applied did you take all your current outstanding medical bills with you. These bills will determine your eligibility for medicaid, without them you may be found to be ineligible.
